Lynne Schumacher

Artist

Born in Toronto in 1950, Lynne Schumacher started painting at an early age and studied commercial art at Central Technical School before turning her attention to landscape painting.

Many hundreds of hours were spent in the Northern Ontario forests researching, sketching, photographing and painting her subjects.

Previous work was based on close studies of trees, their many textures, moods and the effects of the various seasons upon them. Lynne developed a great love and respect for nature, and painstakingly applied paint to canvas to capture a startling realism and a boldness of colour and texture achieved by the careful application of brush and palette knife.

Started exhibiting in 1973 at the Art in the Parks, then subsequently the Markham Art Show, Carling’s Art Show, Toronto City Hall and many other annual group shows in the Toronto area.

Her paintings will be found numerous collections by both private and corporate collectors throughout Ontario, and across Canada.

She has recently entered various juried shows in the Greater Toronto Area.
