Bramptonian Paul Highgate is an up-and-coming wildlife artist
specializing in black and white. He discovered art at a very young
age, and was always drawn to wildlife and nature.
Encouraged by his family, Paul attended Sheridan College of Applied
Arts and Technology in Brampton, Ontario and graduated from the
Technical & Scientific Illustration program. After graduation,
he went on to specialize in Computer Animation and spent several
years creating commercials and shorts for various clients. This
work eventually led him to a career in web development.
Paul's passion for wildlife has always drawn him back to the studio.
Specializing in realism and fine detail, he works with black and
white scratchboard. Paul continued to create dramatic pieces that
highlight the beauty and majesty of our world's wildlife.
In September 2005, he received a first place award from the Brampton
Fall Fair for his Raccoon piece. Paul had a solo exhibit
at Brampton Board of Trade's offices, from late-2008 to January
2009, through Visual Arts Brampton. He has exhibited multiple
times at Artway Shoppers World, and at other special VAB exhibits,
including the Brampton Civic Centre.
