Interested in drawing since she was seven, as a teen Marguerite Finlayson took a drawing and painting course from the Ontario College of Art. Over the years she has taken several workshops with the Ontario Central Art Association.

She and most others from Palette of Peel joined VAB when it was founded in 1986. She has enjoyed being an active long-time member, rendering likenesses with our weekly portrait sessions.

As a member of Visual Arts Brampton, she has been continuously active in the group's shows, displaying at the former Chinguasousy Library Gallery, the group's Golden Pheasant Gallery (2005), and Artway Gallery, both at Bramalea City Centre (1998-2003) and Shoppers World (2004 on). Her work was included in the Annual Visual Arts Brampton Auction at the Peel Heritage Complex (2003, 2004), and at the Brampton Civic Centre (2007, 2009). She was the group's vice-president from 2008-2010.
