Students who are looking to apply for regional visual arts programs as schools such as Mayfield Secondary School, Cawthra Park Secondary School and St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School or post-secondary institutions such as York University, OCAD, Sheridan College and Humber College will be interested in our upcoming Portfolio Preparation workshops.
Our Portfolio Preparation Workshop will allow the student to receive professional feedback on their art portfolio from a qualified teacher in the field. The individual consultation during each session is designed to help students stay on track and ensure their visual arts portfolio showcases their best work. Students will also have studio time to work on independent projects with access to our studio materials and facilities such as: reference books and magazines, still life objects, model stand, easels, sinks, etc.
The Portfolio Preparation Workshop will run bi-weekly with six two-hour sessions starting on Sunday October 1, 2017 at 9:30am for high school programs and 12:00pm for post-secondary programs. The cost for this workshop is $130.
Students are encouraged to continue on with the companion Portfolio Presentation & Interview Workshop. This workshop will give the student the opportunity to present their portfolio to a qualified teacher in the field. The instructor will provide insight on how to ensure your portfolio is polished and professional. Students will learn about artist statements and how to talk about their work. At the end of the session, students will have the opportunity to practice sample interview.
The Portfolio Presentation & Interview Workshop is a single session workshop on Sunday January 14, 2018 at 9:30am or 12:00pm. The cost for this workshop is $30.
