Foundation grant funds digital section, etc. Originally published on Monday, August 11th, 2003, in VAB Expressions (now Creative Urges) THOUGHTS FROM THE
PRESIDENT Thanks to a generous grant from the Trillium Foundation in late spring 2003, Visual Arts Brampton is now equipped to teach classical animation to our youth and adult members. The systems are loaded with the program Flipbook which allows the animation drawings to be shot with small computer cameras to pencil test how the characters are moving. When the artist knows that the animation will work well, then they can scan in their images using one of the scanners to do the finished animation on the system. This includes the colouring using the computer program. The systems also are equipped with Corel Essentials so we can show members and others how to do computer graphics and photo manipulation. The studio will have a brand new printer which will allow us to print higher resolution images in black and white. If artists have photos they would like to transfer to digital images they can use the scanners, manipulate the images if needed, and even save the files to CDs. The systems also come with drawing slates so artists can learn to draw right through the computer. So if youd like to learn to do any of these creative techniques or you already know how and would like to use our systems, give us a call and arrange to come in. The Ontario Trillium
Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Culture, receives annually $100
million of government funding generated through Ontarios charity
casino initiative. |
