When Visual Arts Brampton was formed 3 years ago, one of our objective was to encourage an increased awareness of the visual arts in our community.
With "Gold Mine '89", our major fundraising even, we are taking a giant step towards this goal.
The artists represented in this catalogue were invited to participate on the basis of the high standards they have achieved in their work.
I would like to extend my thanks to all the artists in "GOLD MINE '89" and to Susan Davidson for her involvement.
I am also very grateful to those sponsors and donors whose financial support has contributed to the publication of this catalogue as well as the success of this show.

My thanks to Visual Arts Brampton for the privilege of adjudicating for "GOLD MINE '89".
It gave me a wonderful opportunity to view works of commendable standards by some of the Region's finest artists.
The pieces selected were chosen on the basis of their general appeal, resulting in a collection which incorporates a variety of media, a collection which should be pleasing to a wide audience.
