More
room means more time to be creative. THOUGHTS
FROM THE PRESIDENT
by Keith Moreau The groups experienced growing pains as a 16 year old. After various shifts, we will have a big chunk more creative area. What had been our storage room for a couple of years will soon be extra studio space. It has already served The Animex Club for a few weeks in its state of flux. The animation units that depended on our collapsible tables are currently be restructured to have their own legs. These freestanding units will be stationed around the perimeter of the triangular room, with one double-sided unit in the middle of the space. The main studio now has a raised platform along the back of the studio to allow members to be positioned behind others and still have great sight lines to the model stand. Eight artists can use this surface at one time and there is room to walk behind others to get to and fro. It has already been successfully tested both on Tuesday evening and during the youth sessions. Extra horses store conveniently under the raised surface when not in use. The sections that hold the horses during use also slide two feet back when not needed. The large storage shelves are back in the studio and two 3x6 work surfaces are available as a bonus. We plan on moving the etching press from the E room to the printmaking area behind the model stand. This will make the press more visible and hopefully put it back to use after a long dormant period. The E room will become the storage area for the still life items and/or the book collection. |
