In the Make Your Own Picture Book workshop, your child will learn the basics of cartoon character design, including face and body structures, and different hair styles and clothing. Students will learn to bring their characters to life with facial expressions, how to draw poses in different angles and how to draw simple backgrounds to compliment the characters, from outdoor scenes to furnished rooms.
The workshop will also teach students the elements of a story: the introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and conclusion. For a final project, students will be given a 16-page softcover blank book where they will implement everything they have learned in the workshop to create their very own picture book that they will take home with them.
