Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. Why must entries be only 4x6 or 5x7?
A. Simply put, it allows us to mount the show
easier if everything tiles properly. Yes, this may hinder creativity,
but it allows us to put more works on display, allowing more artists
to display their works. We don't mind if you have a border on one
or more of the sides, to fill out the extra space, that's perfectly
fine.
Q. You say that entries are due in on Tuesday,
August 12, 2004 at 00:00 EST. Are you going to be standing there at
the mailbox, checking to make sure people don't get it to your studio
at 1:00 am?
A. No, no. Don't worry, as long as the posties
get it to Snail Mail Central by 10:00 am, you're in and eligible for
a prize. Anything between then and the start of the show, we'll try
to find room for you postcards, but they'll only be on display, not
in the competition.
"Postcard
Art Show": does that mean...
Q. If this is a Postcard Art Show,
does that mean the back has to look like a postcard?
A. No, you can just have photos printed of your
work, and send them to us in an envelope, if you so choose.
Q.
If this is a Postcard Art Show, does that mean that I have
to include place names and "Wish you were here" on my works?
A. No! In fact, we prefer you didn't. We're
just looking for artwork, sent to us in the mail, the size of a postcard,
without mats or frames.
