Shoppers World is the home of Artway Gallery (since June 2004), our primarily exhibit area, Artway Invitational Gallery (since 2010), and Silver Clips Artworks Gallery (since 2011). Previously the mall hosted Fridge Front Gallery (2005-2011) and World Art Gallery (2006-2010). In the late 1980s, VAB participated in the mall's annual Arts Week events, and through the late 2000s, its annual Looking Up to the Arts event. More recently, VAB has participated in many other community events at the shopping centre. Visit Shoppers World on the web at www.shoppersworldbrampton.com The Ontario Trillium Foundation/La Fondation Trillium de L'Ontario An agency of the Province of Ontario, they are "proud contributors to building healthy, caring and economically strong communities by supporting projects that improve the quality of life." Visual Arts Brampton received a grant from the organization in early 2003. These funds went to computer equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, cameras, software, networking, a projector, etc. A 2008 grant has let us upgrade to laptops for further instruction, as well as purchase the equipment to shoot video workshops, which we will release for free online, as vablearn. Visit The Brampton Guardian on the web at www.northpeel.com Visual Arts Brampton's original home was a City-owned building; the group wanted to expand by renting two units instead of just one, but wasn't allowed to rent more than one unit at a time. This, plus high rent rates, sent the group looking for new locations. Kaneff Properties has been extremely generous with their rates, and our Creative Studios have been in the Bartley Square Mall since 1992 (19+ years).
