Creativity and artistic expression need not be limited to only one medium, so why not try them all and explore new tricks and combinations to better express your ideas?
In this course, artists of all levels can expect to explore a new subject and medium every one or two weeks. One by one, new techniques and combinations of mediums will be introduced and explored and will culminate in a finished piece. From drawing, printmaking, painting to collage and mixed media, projects will build on each other, allowing students to gain the confidence and experience to try more and more!
Each five-week session will explore something new so students can stop and start without repeating or missing any of the fun. We will rotate between drawing in pencil, charcoal and ink, painting in watercolour and acrylic, collagraph, etching and lino printmaking and will learn to mix it up to create unique mixed media pieces.
In this fun and relaxed course, the elements and principles of art will be picked up along the way as well as information on the materials being used, what to look for and where to buy them.
Because of the number and type of materials required, materials will be supplied by the instructor and an additional fee will be included in the price of the course. Students only need to bring a sketchbook, drawing tools of their choice, an open mind and a cup of coffee.
Artistic Exploration - Session 1 will focus on positive and negative space in black and white, drawing and printmaking.
This workshop is not currently scheduled. Please check back for future dates.
