In this four-week workshop, participants will learn the art of Paper Quilling. Paper Quilling, also known as Paper filigree, is a highly addicting art where thin strips of paper are coiled by hand and manipulated into various shapes to make the most exquisite designs.
In this workshop, the participants will make a quilled butterfly garden. Starting with basic quilling techniques and progressively moving to advanced techniques, the participants will make a variety of quilled flowers, leaves, butterflies, swirls and scrolls. Finally, they will glue the quilled pieces on a canvas board to complete their artwork.

What Students will Learn
- What is Paper Quilling and the materials required to do Paper Quilling.
- Basic quilling shapes and techniques like loose coils, tight coils, scrolls, teardrop shape, heart shape, bunny ear shape, etc. to make a variety of flowers.
- Intermediate quilling shapes and techniques like scrolls, swirls, fringing and cascading loops to make different kinds of flowers, leaves and swirls.
- Advanced quilling shapes and techniques like beehive quilling, eccentric rolls and marquise to make a variety of butterflies.
About the Instructor
Deepa Krishnan has been passionate about arts & crafts since her childhood. She has worked on a variety of traditional art media till she fell in love with the art of paper quilling. She has been practicing this art since 2016 and has created many artworks using the quilling technique.
