Artway Invitational Gallery — Visual Arts Brampton

Visual Arts Brampton's Artway Invitational Gallery features solo shows, small group shows, and specialty theme shows. Launched in April 2010, this new space is a spin-off of VAB's 14-year-old Artway Gallery.

Artway Invitational is located at the southeast side corner of the mall, in the mall entrance near Zellers and Fabricland. As the works are in display cases, they're visible during mall hours, and in the time immediately before opening and after closing. Unlike traditional gallery spaces, Artway and Artway Invitational shows are viewed by thousands of people, as an active part of the community.

Artway Invitational Gallery has had 24 exhibits since June 2010

ARTISTS: To submit your work for consideration, send some sample JPEGs/PNGs/TIFs or a PDF to artwayinvite@gmail.com — we'll keep the images on file at the studio. In the email, specify whether you'd like to be considered for a solo show, a small group show (2 to 4 artists), and/or whether you'd consider bringing works in for shows based around a certain theme or medium. We'll contact you when an opportunity arises.

Young Gold

19 January to mid-February 2012

Every year, the Youth Achievement Awards acknowledge the accomplishments of Visual Arts Brampton's youth session students. The best receive Gold medallions, and they are on display at Artway Invitational Gallery.

Five of the six teen students who won gold at the Youth Achievement Awards are participating: Lucy, Francesca, Victoria, Tasha, and Nicole.

Colourful Roots

Artist bio

Born 1942 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I am a self-taught artist whose primary interest is landscapes and seascapes. Art training was achieved through personal studies, persistence and the knowledge passed down by the masters of contemporary art.

The most striking features of my artwork are a distinctive use of colour and light providing a great range of mixes that accentuate the internal colour relationships within each of my paintings.
