A Caught Bug - At VAB we started off the Summer session with a two part art project. What do we see a lot of in summer? Bugs! We made our background first with watercolour ink and lots of water, then sprinkled with salt, the reaction causes the ink to dissipate in areas resulting in unique backgrounds. More visble when done with darker and richer water ink colours. In the second part the kids learned to printmake with 1-2 colours on their coloured backgrounds. They turned out amazing!
At VAB we learn lots of art techniques and not just crafts. However we always make the lesson plan into a fun activity with what we learned.
