Gelli Printing

Gelli printing is a relatively new form of mono printing that uses flexible printing plates to create textures and layers of colour.

In this single-evening workshop, students will learn the Gelli printmaking technique by creating spontaneous and pleasing to pull prints. Utilizing colour on colour for layers will help define texture and design that is both simple and clean. Create multiple prints and try your hand at image transferring.

The Gelli printing technique is great for : cards, mixed media art, journals, scrapbooking, posters and fabric printing.

All materials are included.

About the Instructor

Colleen Dee, BFA

Colleen is a lover of all creative arts. She earned her BFA degree in Montreal, Quebec, and had a corporate career as a graphic designer, creative director and marketing manager. After that phase she travelled, lived and worked in Vietnam and Cambodia for a number of years teaching English and art to children and adults in the profit and nonprofit sectors.

Well versed in many art mediums including papermaking, sculpting, printmaking drawing, painting and photo-art. "I love creative expression in so many art forms. I particularly enjoy experimenting with mix-media and using different materials and techniques to create an aesthetic piece whether it has a purpose or not." After returning to Canada she continues to engross herself teaching art and workshops to a variety of age groups.
