Introduction to Amigurumi

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn plushes. In this class, you will be introduced to the techniques needed to make a crochet sphere and appliques that will be combined to create a stuffed owl.

Students must have already taken Crochet for Beginners, or have introductory knowledge of the following: Basic crochet skills (holding hook & yarn, controlling tension), chains, single crochet, and double crochet.

About the Instructor

Stephanie Czolij

Stephanie attended Visual Arts Brampton in her teens, earning two youth awards.  After graduating from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Studio Art and Art History, she returned to VAB as an adult member, board member and occasional instructor.  She has exhibited artwork in the Zavitz Gallery at the U of G, the Rose Theatre, Artway Gallery, and the CNE. Stephanie loves dabbling in a variety of media & exploring new creative interests!
