Attention Vendors!

Visual Arts Brampton is looking for vendors for our annual Holiday Show & sale. If you are interested in displaying and selling artwork, crafts, home-made goods or edible items, we invite you to sign up for a table. This is a great opportunity to share and sell your work to the community at large.

The Holiday Show & Sale is on Sunday November 29, 2015 from 11:00am to 4:00pm at the Visual Arts Brampton studio. Tables cost $25 each, or $20 for those with a VAB membership.

Come out and join Visual Arts Brampton for Culture Days! Once again we are proud to participate in this weekend of celebrating culture in Ontario with free events on Saturday September 26th and Sunday September 27th for the entire family.

All materials for the projects are provided, and no artistic experience is required. The Saturday event will take place at the Visual Arts Brampton studio, located on the corner of Steeles Avenue and Main Street in the Food Basics Plaza and on Sunday we will be at Garden Square in Downtown Brampton, just in front of the Rose Theatre.

Open House

Saturday September 26th 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Location: Visual Arts Brampton Studio

Come see an art class in session, view our member gallery and learn about upcoming events, workshops and classes for adults and children. Also take part in hands on activities such as "Pin the eye, nose, ears, mouth on Picasso" and a large hand mural.

Arts & Crafts Day

Sunday September 27th 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Location: Garden Square, Downtown Brampton

Fun for the entire family! Participate in making stencil bookmarks and cards you can take home. Have a caricature done by artist Ryan C. Thompson. Get your hand painted in amazing designs by one of our artists. Pin the eye, nose, mouth blindfolded on the Picasso.

Also, learn about upcoming events, workshops and classes for adults and children.

A Caught Bug - At VAB we started off the Summer session with a two part art project. What do we see a lot of in summer? Bugs! We made our background first with watercolour ink and lots of water, then sprinkled with salt, the reaction causes the ink to dissipate in areas resulting in unique backgrounds. More visble when done with darker and richer water ink colours. In the second part the kids learned to printmake with 1-2 colours on their coloured backgrounds. They turned out amazing!

At VAB we learn lots of art techniques and not just crafts. However we always make the lesson plan into a fun activity with what we learned. We have many more lessons planned so stay tuned to our website.
